Important Information Regarding Electric Rates
Jun 6, 2022 | News and Events
JCREMC will implement a rate increase effective July 1, 2022, to offset rising costs due, in part, to supply chain disruptions and increasing commodity prices. The average residential increase will be 3.1 percent over our normal summer base rate and will show on August bills.
JCREMC consumers have options to help save money on monthly electric bills. The cooperative offers rebates and incentives to encourage electricity conservation. Our consumers can also choose which of our rates is most cost-effective for them. Both Single-Phase Service (SPS-1) and Single-Phase Time-of-Use (SPTOU) offer a super off-peak component from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily. Consumers who can shift some of their electric usage off-peak will see the biggest savings from these rates.
All consumers who are still on Seasonal Single-Phase Service (SPS) will be moved to Single-Phase Service (SPS-1) in the coming months. The SPS-1 rate offers summer savings, so those consumers who want to switch immediately can do so by calling Customer Service at 317-736-6174. Consumers also have billing options, including budget billing and prepaid billing.
JCREMC vows to continue doing everything in our power to keep rates as low as possible, while still maintaining a robust and reliable electric distribution system.
