Dillon Johnson, one of JCREMC’s level one staking engineers, was one of 20 to be named a 2025 Co-Op Rising Star from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA)’s RE Magazine.
Johnson was among over 160 nominated candidates hailing from cooperatives across the nation and has been a staking engineer at JCREMC since 2018. He has continued to improve himself with trainings, including Hoosier Energy’s three-year energy apprenticeship and Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ Rural Electric Leaders in Training Exchange, a two-year professional program.
“Since I started here, I’ve basically been in some sort of school,” Johnson said in his feature from RE Magazine’s special cover story on the 2025 Co-Op Rising Stars. “I don’t ever want to stop learning or stop trying to attain more knowledge.”
In his role, Johnson is tasked with educating members on installation practices. Johnson has received wonderful feedback from members in the past, showing the kind of heart — and hard work — that Johnson brings to the cooperative.
Also in the article, Johnson received praise from Caleb Drake, JCREMC’s manager of engineering services, saying, “He can talk to anyone, and he always works with our members to find a good solution that works for them.”
