Three local high school seniors from Edinburgh, Franklin and Center Grove have been selected to receive $2,000 scholarships from JCREMC to support their college education.

Deborah Dewees of Edinburgh High School, PJ Cummings of Franklin Community High School and Aiden Sargent of Center Grove High School were chosen by an internal JCREMC team based on their community involvement, academic achievements and their submission of an essay focused on electricity or fiber internet. To be eligible for the program, students must be living in homes served by JCREMC.
“JCREMC is so proud to support Deborah, PJ and Aiden on their academic journeys. We remain committed to supporting and uplifting our community, and that work starts with our youth. We look forward to seeing what they each accomplish in the future, and we’re grateful to have the opportunity to encourage them on their way,” said John Sturm, CEO of JCREMC.
The students were recognized on April 18 at JCREMC’s 2026 Annual Meeting, where members gather each year to share updates on the cooperative.
Applications for the 2026-27 cycle of the JCREMC Academic Scholarship will open in December. More information about the scholarship and other youth programs is available at jcremc.com/community/.
