JCREMC offers rural energy audits
Nov 20, 2020 | News and Events
Owners of rural small businesses and farm operations looking to improve overall energy efficiency and upgrade equipment can now apply for an American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Tier II Energy Audit through JCREMC and Hoosier Energy. ASABE Tier II energy audits review overall operations of electric, liquid propane, and natural gas equipment. They can help farms and rural small businesses qualify for U.S. Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Conservation Services grants or low-interest loans to upgrade equipment or explore renewable energy projects.
If a business is selected for an energy audit, a USDA grant will pay for 75 percent of the costs. Business owners are responsible for the remaining 25 percent.
Learn more about the audits and how to apply by contacting John Gates, JCREMC Director of Member Services and Key Accounts, at 317-736-6174 or gatesj@jcremc.com.
