Cooperative Resilience: 2024 JCREMC Annual Meeting

The JCREMC Annual Meeting was held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Franklin Community High School, 2600 Cumberland Drive, Franklin.
This meeting is a time for JCREMC consumers, directors and staff to celebrate the prior year’s accomplishments and look forward to the future. The meeting included breakfast, entertainment, Board of Directors election and the yearly cooperative business meeting.

The 2024 meeting theme, “Cooperative Resilience,” represents our ongoing and unwavering commitment to our members and community. According to JCREMC CEO and JCFiber President, John Sturm, “JCREMC’s main focus over the coming years includes initiatives to expand the use of distributed energy resources. These initiatives are aimed at controlling wholesale power costs while bolstering the resiliency and reliability of your electric service.”

  • Doors opened at 8 a.m. for our traditional hot breakfast. The entertainment was at 9 a.m., followed by the business meeting at 10 a.m. Sturm and members of the Board gave updates on the cooperative’s financial standing, new initiatives, and JCFiber.
  • Activity bags were provided for children to take into breakfast and the Performing Arts Center during the business meeting. Families could’ve also elected to sit in overflow seating, just outside the Performing Arts Center, where the meeting was be live-streamed.
  • Meeting registration cards were mailed to all member households in March, and attendees were asked to bring these cards to the meeting in order to receive an annual report, gift, and be included in the grand prize drawings.
