JCFiber announces third phase of broadband internet expansion

The newest areas of expansion are Zone 3. The largest section of Zone 3 closes the gap between zones 1 and 2 from just south of State Road 44 north to County Road 300 N in Bargersville. The zone stretches east to west from roughly N 400 W to the Johnson-Morgan county line. Zone 3 also includes an area north of Zone 1 near State Road 37 and State Road 144 on the Johnson/Morgan county line.
Zone 3 will cover approximately 940 residents and businesses. Sign-ups will begin in parts of Zone 3 in early 2022. Eligible residents and businesses in all newly served areas will be notified when service becomes available.
“JCFiber’s mission has been and continues to be getting high-speed fiber optic internet service to the rural areas not typically prioritized by other internet providers,” said Nick Stainbrook, Director of Fiber Operations. “Fiber is the absolute best internet technology available and we’re working diligently to bring access to our members who don’t have fast reliable broadband.”
The JCREMC Board of Directors took action in December 2020 to expand JCFiber’s network to reach 5,000 additional members over four years. Mainline construction began on Zone 2 this summer.
Additional expansion zones will be announced in 2022.
