JCREMC Disconnects Suspension Continues as State Moratorium Expires

Published August 10, 2020

While Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has announced that the state’s moratorium on utility disconnects will expire on August 14, 2020, JCREMC’s voluntary extension will still run through September 15, 2020 as we previously announced. We understand that many of our consumers are facing financial hardships due to COVID-19 and we are offering this extension to allow extra time to pay off past-due balances prior to resuming disconnects.

JCREMC will work with struggling consumers to set up payment plans and find the right billing and rates options for each individual situation. We can also refer consumers to potentially applicable community resources. If you are struggling to pay your JCREMC electric bill, please call our office at 317-736-6174 as soon as possible so we can help.

Update to JCREMC’s Utility Disconnects Moratorium

Published July 23, 2020

JCREMC has again voluntarily extended our moratorium on disconnects and late fees through September 15, 2020 to allow those financially impacted by COVID-19 more time to avoid disconnection.

Please be aware that during a disconnect moratorium, usage charges continue to accrue. Past-due balances must be paid in order to avoid loss of service when disconnects resume. We encourage consumers to pay any amount possible toward past-due balances to avoid a large balance when the moratorium ends.

If you are struggling to pay your JCREMC electric bill, please call our office at 317-736-6174 as soon as possible to discuss available community resources and payment plan arrangements.

Effective immediately, we have resumed normal customer service hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The JCREMC lobby is now open with traffic limited to one consumer at a time. We continue to heavily encourage use of our automated systems for bill payment and phone (317-736-6174) for other customer service inquiries. For some inquiries, customer service personnel may ask you to schedule an appointment to meet with the appropriate party. These precautions are in place to protect both consumers and employees. It is critical for JCREMC to maintain a healthy workplace so personnel are able to continue providing the electrical services our members rely on.

Automated Payment Systems

JCREMC offers a variety of bill payment options. Electronic payments can be made by logging into your account at jcremc.com or on the new myJCREMC app (available for both Apple and Android). Payments can also be made by phone at 317-736-6174. If you need to make a payment by cash or check, the kiosk and drop box are available on the south side of the JCREMC building.
