Annual Meeting Minutes Available

The annual meeting of Johnson County REMC was held Saturday, April 20, 2013. The theme for the meeting was Embracing the Cooperative Spirit. Members that attended enjoyed a hot breakfast, entertainment by The Tom Daugherty Orchestra, a gift, prizes and activities for the kids. Directors elected for a three-year term are Lee Ann Wilbur, district #5 and Stephen Watson, district #6.

With a record crowd in attendance, the annual meeting of Johnson County REMC was held Saturday, April 20, 2013. The theme for the meeting was Embracing the Cooperative Spirit. Members that attended enjoyed a full course breakfast, the Big Band sound of entertainer The Tom Daugherty Orchestra, a gift, prizes and activities for the kids. Directors elected for a three-year term are Lee Ann Wilbur, district #5; and Stephen Watson, district #6.

It’s Annual Meeting Time!

Everything is in place and ready to go for the annual meeting this Saturday, the 20th of April. It’s a little bit of business, and a lot of fun! We will be serving our traditional hot breakfast, and of course we will have the coin holder drawing where you can win a $5, $10, $20 or $50 bill! We are sure that the Tom Daugherty Orchestra will delight you with their Big Band sound, and you just may be the lucky person to walk away with a lawn tractor, an iPad or a $100 bill. But you must be there to win, so we hope to see on Saturday!

Grassroots education update

Transmission costs, which cover the expenses involved in moving electricity over long distances, make up a substantial part of the cost of power. A new federal rule would make it possible for anyone to build a transmission line in Indiana and charge costs that the state will not be able to regulate. Winter Weather Advisory

Weather authorities are predicting extreme ice and windy conditions for today, Thursday, February 21. Ice build-up on power lines, combined with strong winds, could cause power lines to break, interrupting service to consumers and creating power outages. We urge caution around any downed power lines you may see. For your safety, stay away. Call the office if you see any downed power lines or if your power goes out. Outages may be reported 24/7 at 736-6174.

Holiday Hours

The office will be closed for the holidays according to the following schedule. Thanksgiving: Thursday and Friday, November 22 & 23; Christmas: Monday and Tuesday, December 24 & 25; New Year: Monday and Tuesday, December 31 and January 1. During office closings, payments may be made 24 hours per day online or by using the night depository located at our drive-through window. If you experience any power interruptions we are available by calling (317) 736-6174.
